MINDSET FITNESS SUCCESS EP13- WHAT IS YOUR WHY

If you’ve got a pretty significant health, fitness or weight loss goal that you’re wanting to achieve, one of the most important things that you need to do right from the outset is to make it crystal clear in your mind as to what your why is.

You really have to have it crystal clear as to why you want to achieve your goals and keep this at the surface of your mind at all times every single day. This will ensure that you’re not going to be tempted to do something that’s going to take you further away from your goal or put you off the tracks of where you’re trying to head to, or sabotage your efforts, or convince you that you no longer want to do that. You really have to solidify in your mind why it is that you want to achieve that goal. You have to have a big enough why to carry you though those moments. Believe me, you’re going to get stuck and feel like it’s just easier to give up, or it’s easier to stop doing what you’re doing. You have to think to yourself, “In one year’s time, in two years’ time, in three years’ time, what is it going to take for me to feel like I have been successful at my goal, and I’ve been able to achieve it and maintain it for the long-term?”

One of the best things that you can do for this is to write a detailed list. The more detailed the list, the clearer it will be, and the much more likely you’ll be to achieve your goals and be able to navigate through those areas where you could potentially become unstuck. Now, you need to think; if it’s a weight loss goal, what is it in your life that you feel like you are being held back from? What is it that you really truly desire but feel like your weight is holding you back from? Is it being able to get out there and enjoy quality time with your kids, running around and have the energy to keep up with them? Is it affecting your relationships? Are you feeling self-conscious to go out in public? What significant things and what impact is your current state of health, weight and fitness having on your life? Also, what potentially will changing that affect?
