Bunless meat bagels are an awesome substitute for your traditional hamburger bun or bread roll! Fill your meat bagel with lots of fresh salad greens and other raw veggies as you would a regular hamburger and enjoy!

Recipe adapted from http://ditchthewheat.com/meat-bagels/

  • 1 kg free range pork or grass fed beef mince
  • 2 eggs (preferably free range organic)
  • 1 medium onion, diced finely
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon unrefined salt
  • 2/3 cup tomato sauce (passata)
  • 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil or ghee

Filling suggestions: grated carrot, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced onion, grated cheese, fried egg, and / or sliced avocado.

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Cook onions in a frying pan with coconut oil or ghee over medium heat.
  3. Mix meat and all other ingredients (expect fillings) together in a bowl including cooked onions (once they’ve cooled).
  4. Split mix up into about 6 to 8 portions and roll into balls and shape like a bagel (hole in middle).
  5. Bake in oven until meat is fully cooked, roughly 40 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, cool and slice in half and fill with raw greens and vegies, and or egg.
